COGNOS EP Developer Position:

 

Client currently uses Cognos 8.4 for its BI, Planning and Forecasting needs.  Seeking a contractor with working experience with the Enterprise Planning module to assess and then implement improvements to our current configuration. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

1.   Learn the business budget planning processes and requirements then revise the existing EP configuration to support those requirements.

2.   Communicate and implement best practices.

3.   Recommend process improvements that will result in more effective use of the system.

4.   Cross-train designated individuals to support EP.

5.   Document the revised configuration.

6.   Perform all build, unit, integration and regression testing activities.

7.   Work with the ETL and / or reporting team to resolve data and / reporting issues.

8.   Support the super users and recommend additional training as appropriate.

9.   Participate in projects involving upgrades, implementation of hot packs and any enhancements.

Qualifications:

1.      Bachelor’s degree required (Preferably in information Systems/computer science)

2.      4-6 years experience implementing or working with Cognos Enterprise Planning (large company is preferred)

3.      Cognos EP certification desired

4.      Experience with Cognos BI and reporting a plus

5.      Knowledge of ETL beneficial

6.      Experience with automating business processes.

7.      Understanding of general accounting processes and concepts.

8.      Strong experience with all Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel

9.      Technical aptitude to work with different financial systems
