Job Title: ETL Lead

NOTE FORM CLIENT: ETL Lead – Must have 8-10 years experience and 3-5 years ESSbase along with Hyperion 11; extensive experience with building and modifying financial reports writing business rules, Calc scripts and Maxl scripts; experience with Smartview, PL/SQL, TOAD; background with Oracle financials and ERP
Job Requirements:
Mandatory Expectations:
- Analyze and translate business requirements into technical specifications Build prototype using EssBase and work with users to solidify requirements and design
- Lead data cube design activities
- Define cube data structure and calculation rules
- Create ETL specifications to importing data and building cubes
- Work with the OBIEE developers to create reports using cube data
- Tune performance and troubleshoot applications
- Work with out-sourced vendors to setup, configure, maintain and upgrade hardware configurations for EssBase implementations
- Train Report Developers and end-users to maximize the utilization of EssBase features
- Evangelize the capability and power of EssBase's toolset to other parts of the organization
Education:
- 4 year Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Master's degree preferred.
Qualifications:
- Overall 8-10 years of work exp with at least 3-5 years of hands-on work exp with developing on Essbase, Planning and Shared Services.
- Experience with Hyperion System 11 is desired
- Extensive experience with writing Business Rules, Calc scripts and Maxl scripts
- Extensive experience with building and modifying Financial Reports (FR) and/or WebAnalysis (Dashboards)
- Extensive experience with Windows scripting and writing batch files in support of ETL Processes.
- Experience in multidimensional analysis, designing applications and databases, designing and building dimensions, loading data, calculating data and aggregation techniques
- Thorough knowledge of end user tools including Smartview, and Essbase Add-in for Excel (Visual Explorer)
- Demonstrated knowledge of drill to detail functionality
- Demonstrated knowledge of both native security and Shared Services security
- Working knowledge of OBIEE
- Working knowledge of Linux OS & Windows OS
- Working knowledge of software version control concepts and change management processes

Responsibilities:
The SAS EBI Developer will have strong communication and thought leadership skills with creating reports using the SAS 9.2 EBI software suite, augmented by Base SAS skills and including Information Map Studio, SAS Stored Processes, Enterprise Guide, SAS/GRAPH, ODS, DATA step, SQL, & Macros. Services may include focus on:
1. Leading or assisting with activities related to EBI project discovery, definition, design, development, and/or implementation of the SAS EBI environment, including actions that incorporate both reporting and distribution processes
2. Understanding EBI requests and translating them into actionable reports from acquiring relevant data, modifying data if needed, building the reports, outputting the reports, etc.
3. Utilizing Enterprise Guide and its functionality to create project flows which could include aspects of data access, manipulation, summarization, and report generation to a variety of output formats and channels, etc.
4. Using Information Map Studio and its functionality to map physical data to business elements. (As an example, creating various types of prompts, filters, data elements, etc.)
5. Using Web Report Studio and its functionality to create web reports. As an example, use filters and prompts created within information maps, provide report linking, modify report layouts, schedule reports to run automatically, etc.)
6. Using the Information Delivery Portal as means for users to view reports. Creating portlets and content to these newly created or pre-existing portlets
7. Creating various OLAP cubes using functionality of OLAP Cube Studio. As an example, creating various dimensions and hierarchies, drill-through, performance tuning, aggregations, member-level metrics, etc.
8. Creating and using Stored Processes for the creation of customized web output.
Required Skills:
1. Familiar with configuring SAS BI components:
A. Troubleshoot and resolve BI related issues
B. Design and development of reports, charts, interactive maps, data structures, OLAP cubes, ETL processes, stored procedures.
2. Knowledge of metadata and data lineage
3. 3+ years minimum experience SAS coding.
4. 2+ years experience in the implementation, configuration, architecture of SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence suite of tools.
