Job Title: MS SQL Server DBA/Lead

Duration : 1 year

Location: Los Angeles, CA

 

Job Duties: This position will review the daily operation and support of production instances following established standards and procedures while adhering to strict change management guidelines and be responsible for the development, test and production SQL Server environments operating in traditional, virtual, and clustered settings.

This position will also serve as a technical expert on architecture, design and performance decisions with the development teams, while following and enhancing the best practices and standards used within the organization Some of the duties will include:

·         SQL Server Installation/ Configuration (SQL Server, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS) 

·         Local and Remote database management in a 24x7 environment

·         Performance tuning (indexes, partitions, SSIS processes) 

·         Server optimization 

·         Backup/ Recovery & Disaster Recovery Planning/ Testing 

·         Configure and monitor database mirroring and replication

·         SQL Server Patch management 

·         Security Management and Compliance testing 

·         Application development using T-SQL and MDX 

 

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience: 

·         5 + years experience working with MS SQL Server including enterprise data warehouses in clustered environments 

·         2+ years of BI/ Data Warehousing experience nice to have 

·         MS SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 are required 

·         Good knowledge of Windows Server 2003 through 2008/R2

·         Understanding of Relational-Database principles

·         Understanding of multi-dimensional analysis and design

·         Excellent problem resolution and mitigation skills

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

·         Ability to work independently on multiple projects, in a team environment.

·         Must be highly self-reliant and motivated, and able to take ownership of tasks through completion

·         Available to work after hours, if needed 

·         Healthcare and HIPAA experience preferred 

·         BS or BA degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
