Position: Linux Systems Engineer

Location: St. Louis ,MO

Duration:12Months

This position is part of the Platform Engineering team that works closely with the Architecture and Delivery areas to develop comprehensive infrastructure solutions. This position requires an extensive background in server technologies, with a demonstrated ability to execute Proof of Concepts (POCs) to develop and implement solutions in a dynamic, global environment.

 

Responsibilities:

• Execute Proof of Concepts in lab and data center environments.

• Work closely with Architecture and internal customers on selection, design, and implementation of new technologies.

• Provide 3rd Tier problem escalation support and troubleshooting.

• Create technical documentation - roadmaps, presentations, cost models, etc.

• Market & sell decisions with senior leaders and other stakeholders.

• Work in both a self-directed, individual contributor as well as matrix team environments.

 

Required Experience:

• In-depth experience (+5 years) with VMware and server technologies

• Comprehensive server configuration, tuning, and monitoring knowledge

• Blade server expertise, with knowledge of the Cisco UCS technologies a plus.

• Server virtualization configuration, implementation, and support experience

• Strong understanding of underlying storage and network architectures

• Demonstrated experience of translating business objectives to technology solutions.

• Linux
