Short Description:

seeking a Senior Consultant responsible for design, coding and testing Windows Mobile and desktop applications using VB.NET, C# and SQL server. 

Complete Description:

Role Description:

·         Responsible for developing new screens for the implementation of existing and new applications in Mobile and Desktop platform.

·         Participate in structured code reviews / walkthroughs.

·         Create and provide content for operational documentation to Technical Writers.

·         Utilize configuration management tools, design tools, debugging tools, and any other environment specific tools necessary to create, test, and implement an application.

·         Research problems before approaching the Team Lead or Functional Architect for assistance.

·         Support installation of application releases into production as directed.

·         Communicate accurate and useful status updates.

·         Ability to work in a team environment

·         Designs architecture for an organization on an enterprise level

·         Evaluates and revises business processes

·         Ensures that all project goals are accomplished according to specifications and business objectives

·         Determine time estimates and schedule for own work and resolve issues in a timely manner

·         Identify and track issues, risks and action items

·         Anticipate, identify, track and resolve issues and risks affecting own work and work of the project team

·         Develop contingency plans as necessary

·         Consistently provides accurate and detailed estimates

 

Required Skills

·         Atleast 9 years of software development experience for the Windows platform – Desktop application.

·         Atleast 7 years of software development experience in VB.Net, C#, TSQL (SQL server)

·         Atleast 2 years as a Mobile Developer.

·         Atleast 7 years of experience in SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008.

 

Highly Desired Skills

·         Coding related skills to include LINQ, Attributes, Extension methods, Interfaces, Model View controller design, Singleton design pattern, SQL queries, etc.

·         Understanding of Code performance to include Object creation / deletion, lists vs. arrays, string builder vs. string appends etc., basic LINQ performance idea, basic threading (creator/consumer, locking), etc.

·         Understanding of some of the performance constraints on the Mobile device to include application space, volatile vs. non-volatile memory, on device memory vs. external storage.

·         Strong OOD expereince with extensive use of design patterns.

·         Knowledge of handheld devices, Windows Mobile 5.0/6.0.

 

Desired Skills

·         Developing integration processes with SAP.

·         Excellent communication skills in technical and non technical environments

·         Able to adapt to changing requirements and priorities while maintaining a high degree of quality and output in the work performed.

·         Familiar with bar code reading equipment and configuration
