Position : SAP HR Portal Techno Functional Consultant
Location : Houston, TX
Duration : 6 Months
Start date : Immediate
Requirements:
· This position requires a mid-level SAP Portal Techno-Functional Analyst with ESS, MSS, and SAP HR Portal experience, who will be part of the SAP HR Team, providing Support, Maintenance, Enhancement, and Project services for the SAP HR Users.
· Exposure and Experience with SAP HR (aka HCM or Human Capital Management, which includes Payroll, Time Management, Benefits, Recruitment, ESS, MSS) will be a definite advantage.
· Provide 24x7 on-call service for HI Severity tickets, and provide US Business Hrs coverage when Onshore resources are away.
· This will require home connectivity and ability to communicate to US Business Users from home.
· Analyze and troubleshoot problems to find optimum solutions.
· Recommend solutions to Onsite team and/or Clients.
· Work in a global team environment to define the technical and design specifications.
· Develop application, systems, and procedures documentation.
· Use the Remedy ticket tracking tool to manage work activities and to maintain work progress information.
· Understanding of the SLA relevant requirements and working to achieve them.
· Handle other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience/Education:
· Candidate must have experience working in Development and Production support environments, including:
· 4-6 years of SAP experience, with at least 2 years hands-on Portal Apps (ESS, MSS) configuration.
· Proven experience with configuring iViews, Guided Procedures, Portal Themes, and use of Portal Content Admin Tool - this will be preferred over HR and Payroll Functional experience.
· Configuration experience with SAP HR sub-modules, including PA, PD, US Payroll, Benefits, Recruitment etc. is an advantage.
· Proven ability to work with Users, gathering and understanding requirements, and configuring solutions or specifying solutions to technical (e.g. SAP ABAP) teams.
· Experience with SAP ECC 6.0, EP 7.0, and NetWeaver platform.
· Ability to operate in a global team environment and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Strong analytical and technical problem solving skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Experience developing solutions to meet project objectives and to resolve simple to complex functional/technical issues
· Experience in meeting critical deadlines, while maintaining flexibility to respond to changing requirements and priorities
· Able to work independently with minimum supervision and ability to contribute as a member of a team
· Customer interface skills
· Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field
DESIRED EDUCATION / SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:
SAP Technical Skills:
· A candidate with formal SAP training and/or SAP Certification would be a definite advantage.
· Technical experience with SAP Portal environment, including hardware and operating configuration is required.
· Preference will be given to candidates with SAP-HR Portal configuration experience (with lower level of SAP HR and Payroll Functional experience).
· Experience with HR processes on the business side is an advantage.
· Experience with SAP development (e.g. ABAP, Web Dynpro, PI) is an advantage.
· Experience working on at least 1 full end-to-end SAP HR Implementation is required.
· Experience in interacting with SAP and their OSS (Online Service System) is required.
Support tool skills:
· Remedy Ticket tracking system knowledge
· Mercury Change Management system knowledge
· Experience working in a multi-vendor environment is desired.
· Experience with global teams desired
