Duration: 12 month +

Our client a Fortune 100 company based in Wisconsin is looking for Senior Oracle Data Warehouse DBA to support a Multi-Terabyte Data Warehouse DB.
Background Experience and Knowledge Required:
1. Minimum ten years progressive Oracle expertise with latest 5+ years within a multi-terabyte Data warehouse environment in a Unix / Linux, RAC configuration ( Oracle 9i,10g and 11g )
2. Five years' experience with VLDB's (Very Large Databases
3. Five years' experience with SQL Plus, PL/SQL, SQL.
4. Five years' experience entity relationship and dimensional data modeling.
5. Five years' experience in the areas of Data Warehouse design and architecture, with intimate knowledge of 10g/11g init.ora parameters and tuning as an absolute
6. Knowledge of sourcing data from transactional environments. EBS experience is a plus.
7. Knowledge of Partitioning, Materialized Views, Bitmap Indexes, Parallel Execution, Join Indexes, etc.
8. Knowledge of the latest features of OBIEE 10g. Knowledge of OBIEE11g is a plus
9. Confident in his skill sets to be able to take responsibility on database challenges and resolve problems working closely with the EDW team.
10. Goal oriented with exceptional success history in performance tuning of multi-terabyte Data Warehouses
General Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for database tuning, optimization, planning, file space allocation, Disaster Recovery and parallel processing.
2. Develop and maintain database backups, security procedures and data archive processes
3. Ensure database is optimized to support the company's Data Warehouse Transformation and Load process
4. Design and implement the proper key, partitioning and indexing schemes to ensure database optimization for very large volumes.
5. Analyze and develop database specific scripts for back end automation of partition exchanges / additions / splits and merges.
6. Document database level scripts, triggers, alerts, transformations, etc with the database.
7. Coordinate enhancements, upgrades and maintenance of the database and structural changes when necessary
Specific Immediate Responsibilities:
1. Tune OBIEE queries that hit the GL Balance Fact and aggregate tables. (At least 5 queries that exceed the minute threshold) - Goal to tune queries for a faster response consistently.
2. Tune One ETL Extract and two ET Load routines that appear to taking more time than it should. Normally takes 10 or 15 minutes but on occasion will run for 2 hours. Need to resolve inconsistency.
3. Assist in the ETL Extract performance for the extraction of Projects Data.
4. Complete all scripting related to general database maintenance. (Backup & Recovery, Archival, etc)
