Short Description:

Deliver testing in order to ensure the functional requirements must meet the overall needs of the product / application and that the functional and non functional requirements meet usability, performance and resilience criteria.

 

Complete Description:

Deliver High quality solutions, utilizing an understanding of performance testing concepts, including the ability to evaluate test results to identify performance issues and bottlenecks.

 

Ensure all testing processes and outputs meet the criteria for Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) level 3 standards.

 

Responsibilities:

        Using the requirements documents supplied by the Architect, write up test cases; create scripts, execute the test cases and documentation relating to the functional and performance testing.

        Plan, design, execute and evaluate performance tests of applications and services to ensure optimal application performance.

        Use HP Loadrunner to develop performance scripts, create and execute test scenarios, and analyze results

        Use HP QTP to develop automation scripts, create and execute test scenarios, and analyze results

        Provide and maintain baseline metrics and desired outcomes for the complete testing process for each project/release as defined by Product or Project Management.

        Ensure all documentation above is approved by the QA Manager prior to carrying out any testing.

        Define test environment configurations, tools and prepare the testing environment.

        Assist development and operations with diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution of performance issues.

        Work with the Data Centre and / or relevant support team to ensure the physical build of hardware is ready for software testing.

        Review server capacity planning and performance analysis for UNIX, Windows, Database and Mainframe platforms.

        •Where environment issues may cause a delay to testing raise with line management and capture if required in the project plan.

        Provide detailed analysis of all testing carried out on the environment ensuring all bugs, risks and issues are logged correctly.

        Ensure defect prevention of product by working with other departments to prevent defects in all levels of production and procurement

        Where required provide analysis in the formal presentation to the Architect and / or senior QA management.

        Actively provide feedback to senior QA management which may result in new working practices or general QA improvements.

        Where required implement and train individuals on the use of the automation policies and procedure manual

        Maintain library of key lessons-learned and best practices and actively collaborate within the team to share skills and experience.

 

Demonstrates a 'skilled' level of knowledge and understanding in:

 

        Demonstrating effective communication processes meeting demands of both SQACEC Office of Technology Management (OTM) and programme / project requirements.

        Ensuring that knowledge is kept up to date will all relevant updates/releases to products

        Working knowledge of Mercury HP toolset

        Using ePM for change control, risks and issues

        Demonstrating good knowledge and understanding of testing market

        Demonstrate knowledge and experience planning, designing, implementing, performing, and evaluating performance tests

        Strong statistical and analytical skill and mind set

        Strong research, problem solving, and troubleshooting ability

        Strong Apache, SQL, and HP Quality Center Skills

        Working knowledge of databases (MySQL and Oracle preferred)

        Strong knowledge of the Linux, Unix and MS operating systems

        Working knowledge of TCP/IP, networking topology, routers, switches and application behavior over local and wide area network

        Knowledge of CMM/TMM useful

        Providing focused on accurate and exact data analysis

        Knowledge of min. 2 programming languages (C and Java preferable)

        Theoretical and practical knowledge of object oriented development approaches

        Strong software application skills (MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Project)

        Developing and maintaining documentation

        Ability to work under pressure

        Multi-tasking capability and flexible working habits to meet very strict deadlines

 

Behavior Characteristics:

• University degree or equivalent preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or similar

• ISEB Foundation qualification or recognised country specific qualification desirable
