Client is seeking a Senior Java & Ruby on Rails Developer to help drive key
IT initiatives including number of nationwide multi-institutional open source and/or SaaS projects.
Qualifications:
* Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of Ruby on Rails. (MUST SKILL) (If you take ROR out from this req, it becomes regular Java req which is position #8)
* Demonstrated track record of architecting and developing enterprise-level distributed systems using various technologies/platforms such as XML/XSL, SOA/Webservices, Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), etc.
* Experience with Open Source technologies, frameworks, architectures, and tools (e.g. Subversion, ANT, Spring, Hibernate, etc). (preferred)
* In depth knowledge of web technologies such as AJAX, DHTML/CSS, XML/XSLT, etc. (preferred)
* Familiarity with Web 2.0 technology and trends. (preferred)
* In-depth knowledge & experience in developing project proposals, Statement of Work, project/release plans, risk plans, and communication plans.
* Ability to determine project strategy and scope, lead business system analysis and designs, and develop realistic estimates and quotations for software services.
* Strong skills in various design patterns and Object-Oriented Development Methodologies (e.g. UML, OOAD, RUP, etc).
* Working knowledge of IT Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and direct experience in requirements gathering, use case analysis, functional design, data/domain modeling, and user interface design.
VB.Net and strong Win Form developer

Responsibilities
· Maintains and posts content on CLIENT Web sites using custom CMS.
· Creates and edits graphics for CLIENT initiatives, including Web banners.
· Performs small developments and modifications to the CLIENT Web sites.
· Performs QA and testing on Web developments and provides suggestions for improvement.
Requirements:
· College degree in New Media, Communications, Design, Computer Science, or provide evidence of equivalent work experience.
· Must have 1-3 years of experience with creating, updating and maintaining Web content.
· Must have experience with HTML/CSS/Javascript (hand-coding), interface design and development, Web standards, Web 2.0 applications, usability and graphic design.
· Must be proficient using most design and web authoring applications, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Dreamweaver.
