Job Description:

The client is looking for Sr. Java Developers with experience in Developing Java Applications using J2EE technologies, Swing, Hibernate, JMS, Spring and EJBs for a Fixed Income Trading Application

A self-starter able to work with a minimum direction.

Experience in developing and implementing small to large systems.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Designs, develops, enhances, debugs, and implements software. Troubleshoots production problems related to software applications.

* Researches, tests, builds, and coordinates the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements.

* Designs and develops new software products or major enhancements to existing software.

* Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.

* Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.

Minimum Qualifications

* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

* In-depth understanding of Object Oriented Analysis, Object Oriented Design, and Object Orienting Programming

* In-depth understanding of the Java Programming Language, syntax and constructs

* In-depth understanding of Algorithms and Data Structures

* General problem solving and troubleshooting skills

* Self starter / self motivated

* In-depth understanding of J2EE, specifically JMS

* In-depth understanding of JDBC and SQL (Oracle)

* In-depth understanding of the use of the Eclipse IDE, JBoss stack is a plus

* In-depth understanding of the difference between EARs, WARs, and JARs.

* Basic understanding of Spring and Struts

* Basic understanding of Junit and unit testing frameworks

* Basic understanding of software and web security

* Basic understanding of HTML and web-based forms and applications.

  Key Responsibilities

*  Collaborate with business analysts and designers in the enhancement of a web application.  Development will also include reports and interfaces.

*  Research, document, design and implement program requirements and specifications.

*  Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment.

*  Provide on and off hour support on a rotating schedule

Required Skills/Experience

*  5+ years experience developing Java and Java EE based enterprise applications.

*  Experience with Autosys & Unix Scripts is a plus.

*  Strong development experience with JSP, Servlets, EJB, and Hibernate, is a must.

*  Experience with business integration software such as Tibco BusinessWorks is desired.

*  Experience with one or more application servers such as Glassfish.

*  Experience with and good understanding of Oracle relational databases.

*  Experience in object oriented analysis and design using UML.

*  Experience with JReports or other similar reporting tools

*  Knowledge of SQL, JUnit, Maven, and CVS.

*  Knowledge of Swing UI Development would be a plus.

*  A quick learner with the ability to handle development tasks with minimum supervision.

*  Strong communication skills

*  Ability to work as a team member

*  Financial Services industry accounting experience is a plus.
