High-level Job Duties:

Guides the development, specification and communication of application or infrastructure architectures used by multiple business or application systems.  Provides in-depth technical consultation to the clients, business partners, and IT Management to develop plans and directions to assure the integration of corporate business area requirements.  Provides training to other application or infrastructure architecture staff. 

•          Responsible for being a senior Java developer.

•          Participate in full-life cycle development activities including analysis of business requirements, creating technical designs, and developing solutions.

•          Responsible for participating in the team's Java software design reviews and code reviews per Northern Trust's standards and industry best practices.

•          Provide technical analysis for current projects; including participating in research, requirements definition and execution.

•          Assist in software design, development and testing per coding best practices for projects.

•          Assist in development and maintenance of developed components, as well as best-practices documentation in division knowledge bases.

•          Document and/or maintain troubleshooting guides and support procedures.

•          Participate in selection of tools, software, and upgrades.

•          Provide after hours firecall support.

•          Proven ability to handle several assignments simultaneously

•          Proven ability to work independently
