Title              :             Sr. Cognos BI/Planning Engineer

Location       :             RARITAN, NJ

Duration      :             4 months Contract

  

Our client is looking for a Cognos Architect/ Engineer NOT a developer. They need to have done installation, configuration, and capacity planning on over 

10 Cognos servers.

 

Must-haves 

7+ years experience as a senior engineer responsible for deployment of BI solutions 

Strong experience with Cognos BI & Planning 8.4.1,10.1 Architecture/Server Administration 

Cognos development background with various BI Clients 8.4.1, 10.1 

Must have worked on at least 2 full life cycle implementations of Cognos BI Solutions 

Experience with Windows Active Directory for security architecture and IIS for Web Servers 

Experience with Oracle 10g, 11g and SQL Server 2005/2008, other programming languages (VB, PL/SQL) 

Experience with Storage devices like NAS, SAN 

Experience with Windows Server 2003/2008, SUSE Linux Server 10 (SLES10), HP-UX 

Experience with Windows 7, IE 8, Vista, XP, Office 2007 

Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, ability to react quickly to changing requirements due to product limitation or driven by 

enterprise need 

 Solid oral and written communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical topics to management and non-technical 

audiences 

 Experience working with multi-tiered, multi-region architectures within shared services and/or BI competency centers 

Cognos BI Server Administration 

Cognos Professional Author 

Plusses 

Systems architecture skills 

Experience with Cognos BI tools i.e. Analyst, Contributor Administrator Console, Contributor Web Grid, ReportStudio, QueryStudio, AnalysisStudio, 

tricStudio, PowerPlayStudio, EventStudio, Business Insight 

Experience with Cognos BI Clients i.e. Framework Manager, Transformer, Metrics Designer 

Experience with Servers/Software Installation/Qualification/Validation processes in HealthCare industry 

Experience with scripting (SED, AWK, Perl, DOS) or other languages (VB Script) 

Cognos BI and Planning v10.1 training Cert 

PMP Cert 

ITIL Cert
