Description:

3+ years of software development experience in the Business Intelligence realm

2+ years of industry experience as Cognos Business Intelligence Developer

Experience with Cognos BI and data warehouse technologies

Experience modeling and report writing in an Oracle EBS environment – Plus

Expert in Cognos Business Intelligence administration and development including Cognos Report Studio, Query Studio

Demonstrated expertise in complex modeling and complex report development

Expert in Structured Query Language (SQL)

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

Proven ability to work independently or on a team as required

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks as well as changing priorities

The Developer is responsible for the design and development of Cognos-powered Business Intelligence and Performance Management technical solutions. The Modeler reviews complex modeling situations, provides recommended approaches and implements solutions. The primary focus of this role would be to help develop best practices for BI, PM and data warehouse deployments.

In this key role, the Developer is responsible for overall Cognos report development, testing and delivery through closely working with developers, business analysts and management. This involves assisting in the documenting of functional and technical requirements. Responsibilities also include knowledge sharing through demonstrations and training to technical staff and end users.

Strong technical knowledge of IBM Cognos 8 BI product line is a vital requirement for this position. The Modeler needs to have deep knowledge and experience throughout the product line in order to thoroughly understand all the implications of a particular design, thus ensuring that a given implementation is fundamentally sound with superior quality and performance.
