Job Description/Skills Required:
Write functional specifications to migrate existing reports into a datawarehouse.
Candidate will read Sybase stored procedures to understand existing reporting logic, and interview subject matter experts to understand the process at a conceptual level.
Specifications must inventory all source objects and clearly describe the logic applied.
In some cases, the analyst might have to write pseudo code into the specs.
The analyst will then have to work closely with developers to answer any questions during the development phase.
Candidate must understand datawarehousing concepts in order to tailor the specs for new reports into the existing datawarehouse.
Specifications must be written under our Agile development methodology, though Agile experience is not required.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Experience writing functional specifications
- Experience analyzing data in a datawarehousing environment.
- Financial experience
- Experience reading scripts or stored procedures to understand business logic (development experience is NOT necessary)
- Strong SQL (both transact and ANSI)

PREFERRED:

- Experience in a Netezza environment
- Experience in a Sybase environment
- Hedge fund experience
- Working under the Agile methodology
