Title            :        System Analyst
Location    :        Detroit, MI
Duration   :        6 months Contract
Rate            :        $42/hr on C2c or 1099

 
   
The individual is part of a production support team but may also be called on to take responsibility for ensuring that business requirements are captured appropriately for technical solutions.  In this role as a Requirements Analyst, this person will interact with the business to complete the project requirements.
 
The Requirements Analyst is responsible for the following:
Ensuring the business requirements are captured appropriately and accurately.
Translating business language to technical language and vice versa.
Maintaining and ensuring the integrity of the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
The Requirements Analyst also works with the Tech Lead to identify systems affected by the technical requirements.
Optionally - the Requirements Analyst may have testing responsibilities (creation of the test strategy, test cases, and data preparation) at the discretion of the IT Delivery Director.
Creating the Use Case Model
UML skills preferred
Visio experience and knowledge required
Writing Use Case Specifications (for each use case identified in the Use Case Model)
Writing the Supplementary Specification (Nonfunctional requirements)
Creating Data Flow, Context, and/or Decomposition Diagrams
Creating the Current State document
Creating the Future State document
 
Role Description:
Responsible for production support analysis.
Responsible for requirements and functional architecture analysis.
Involved in testing, training, implementing and supporting applications.
Working independently within guidelines, formulates and defines system scope and objectives based on user needs and thorough understanding of business processes.
Leads internal groups on process improvement projects designed to improve results.
Provides high-level technical guidance concerning business implications of application development projects.
Gathers and analyzes information and provides recommendations to address and resolve issues.
Builds relationships with peers and their teams to ensure objectives are achieved.
Extensive creativity required across areas of expertise.
A high proficiency level in specific job related skills is required.
 
Technical Skills:
Programming Languages: SQL/PL-SQL (required), Visual Basic (preferred), JAVA (preferred) 
Databases and Database Tools: Oracle (required), MS-Access (required), TOAD (preferred but SqlDeveloper or DbVisualizer acceptable) Informatica (preferred)
Operating Systems: UNIX (required), UNIX shell scripting (required)
 
Qualifications:
Detail oriented, self-motivated and a self-starter able to work with minimal supervision and expressed guidelines, ability for critical thinking, team player with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Expertise in discovering and documenting business and system requirements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interviewing/requirements discovery skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Expertise in modeling business rules.
Knowledge in the integration of various data sources such as DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, XML files, various types of flat files.
Knowledge of the development of ETL (Extract – Transform – Load) processes with a good understanding of source to target data mapping, ability to define, capture Meta data and Business rules
