                           We are looking for the Build Engineer with  Perl, NT Batch Scripts

Job Title:  Software Engineering: Build

Location:  Seattle, WA / Redmond, WA

The Developer Division Build Team has an immediate opening for a Build Engineer. Primary responsibilities include managing build processes, as well as designing, writing, testing, and executing tools and scripts used to build various milestone versions of the Visual Studio family. You will create and support processes which transform code into a running product on a daily basis. This includes working with complex configuration management environments, generalizing tools to accommodate multiple languages and architectures, adding verification and automation, and assuring tools and processes scale to accommodate the evolving needs of a large distributed team. A flexible schedule and a willingness to perform shift work, which includes evenings and weekends is required.

 

Basic Qualifications requirements:

 

- 2+ years of scripting experience

 

- Experience with Perl, NT batch scripts, JavaScript/Jscript/VBscript, C++, or other programming languages

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

- A BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

 

- Prior software experience with build/configuration management, or testing.

 

- Intermediate to advanced expertise of Windows 7/Server family of products, knowledge of hardware, as well as expertise in command line tools

 

- Good scripting skills with the ability to analyze problems at both the macro and micro levels, be able to understand process and product dependencies, and be able to make effective process management decisions in support of providing viable daily builds to our clients

 

- Strong communication skills and be able to work well in a high profile environment.

 

- Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups such as QA, Dev and PM, and be able to manage competing priorities/milestones effectively.

 

- A strong bias for action and ability to drive issues to resolution
