Title: QA Tester
Location : Milwaukee, WI
Duration: 6 months
 
Job Overview:
Our client is rewriting their current online billing system, changing from a proprietary vendor package to a new application written in house using open source tools

such as Java, jBoss, hibernate, web services, HTML, CSS, etc. Requirements for the project are defined and back-end web services are near completion. Remaining tasks

are development of the front end user interface and several levels of testing. They are currently anticipating the project will be complete in 4 or 5 months. For the

remaining tasks, we are adopting an agile approach to development.

The candidate for this position should have experience doing quality assurance testing for web applications, specifically those using web services. They will be

responsible for design, documentation, review and execution of test plans. They will additionally need to do defect reporting and work with the development teams to

correct errors. It is preferred for this person to have familiarity with QA testing tools and be able to write automated tests. They should also be able to work

collaboratively with other testers and the development team. They are looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and excellent

interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills.

Duties
Develop test plans for all functional, performance, browser and security testing
Run through test scripts manually
Categorize defect issues and report to project teams
Work with programmers to resolve defects
Document test results
Preferred to have the ability to set up automated tests using a testing tool
Experience
A minimum of 2 years experience in testing of web based applications
Experience in performing end-to-end test process for complex enterprise solutions
Experience in full life-cycle solution delivery projects
Ability to use SQL queries for QA tasks
Understanding of Software QA methodologies, tools and approaches (black box and/or automated testing) in a software company with short release cycles
Experience with test automation tools or frameworks such as Selenium or TestNG - Nice to Have
Experience, interest and adaptability to working in a Waterfall or Lean/Agile delivery environment
Exceptional collaboration, listening, written and verbal communication skills
Passion for QA and testing.
Attention to detail, effective communicator, and focus on quality
Quick learner of technology solution and business operations
Bachelor's in Engineering/Science or Mathematics (Computer Science preferred)
