Entry level Web Developer

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: 3+ months

Job Description

This internship is intended for candidates that have recently achieved an under or post graduate degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other relevant area that included a heavy emphasis on application development. 

The Application Developer Intern is responsible for development and support of SAP solutions to meet the needs. The Developer will support the ERP project team and ongoing business operations through implementation, deployment, and acquisition integration. The Application Developer works closely with the Business Architects to deliver, maintain, troubleshoot, resolve technical issues, assist with system upgrades and enhance SAP functionality. The focus of development is on the following RICEF objects.

A candidate consistently demonstrates the following in executing their role and adding value to our organization:

Technical Design

* Collaborate with business teams to understand functional design requirements

* Write comprehensive and easily understood technical designs

* Determine appropriate technology for given design requirements

Development

* Implement technical solution(s) to stated technical design specifications
* Resolve issues found and document changes in the appropriate design document

* Apply OSS Notes

Testing

* Create comprehensive test plans for all assigned objects

* Unit test and document results for all assigned development objects

* Assist functional unit testing

* Participate in systems integration testing

* Regression test changed objects and document results for all assigned developments

Troubleshooting/Issue Resolution

* Use the debugging tools to accurately troubleshoot issues

* Resolve issues and thoroughly document changes required in appropriate design

document(s)

* Understand and use system monitoring tools to deduce performance issues

* Implement performance tuning improvements and regression test any changes made

Team Interaction

* Develop and maintain effective and cooperative relationships with business process owners, end users, consultants, vendors and leadership.

* Interface with business partners to ensure the proper integration of business processes and procedures to and the defined technical solution

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience with Software development,programming, testing and support.
• Web development experience with emphasis on HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
• Database programming experience using SQL queries.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
