Job Title: Network/Systems Administrator
Location: Schaumburg, IL
Duration: 6+ months
Looking for Network/Systems Administrator to work on a number of critical projects and perform high level support and administration. The objective is to constantly evolve and improve our client's use of technology to benefits its user community. Client currently have 65 servers (HP Proliance and IBM eSeries) with 27 virtualized using VMWare.
High Priority Projects:
Backup System (Symantec Backup Exec): Last year our client commissioned a study of their backup systems and were given several recommendations that the Network Administrator will implement. This includes validation and fixes of inconsistencies and creation of a roadmap for the future.
Windows Server: Will perform troubleshooting on 2000, 2003, and 2008R2. This Admin will evaluate each server to make sure it is up to date, install patches, test and provide documentation.
Active Directory: Will review and make sure they are using best practices.
New Servers: They will be adding 16 new 2008 R2 servers that this individual will build from scratch.
Lower Priority Projects:
Work with wireless/WiFi vendor to review wireless offerings on approved public access points.
Review Cisco core/edge configurations using best practices.
Domino server maintenance (1 server).
Required Skills:
Symantec Backup Exec
Windows 2003, 2008 (R2)
Active Directory
Superb communication and leadership abilities
Desired Skills:
Wireless systems
Cisco equipment
Lotus Notes Domino Server
