Job Title - Sybase DBA
Location - Mettawa IL
Duration – 6 months – 1 year+

Interview guaranteed for a top notch consultant. I'm looking for the best of the best for this position. Someone who speaks clearly, has good interpersonal skills and can troubleshoot well. This is an ongoing position, consultant can stay there for years.
Interview process – phone screen with me, technical phone screen, then f2f required in either Mettawa IL or Salinas CA
Work schedule – 8-5pm M-F; with 24/7 on call support for issues. Fridays can usually work from home.
We are looking for a Sybase DBA but also needs to have DBA experience on ONE other platform – either SQL Server, Oracle or DB2.

The DBA will function as a high-level technician working on a large and complex Sybase and one other environment. As a member of a team of DBA's, the DBA should be capable of
thinking independently, but operating in a team environment. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring, back-ups, troubleshooting and performance tuning of databases. The DBA will need to have experience on a UNIX platform. The consultant will work with developers to help with object promotions, regression testing and QA. Must be self-motivated, a team player and have a strong track record in customer satisfaction; Strong written/oral communication skills; Need to have a propensity for problem-solving.
