Mainframe Planning and Implementation Technical Specialist

Complete Description:

Seeking an accomplished Mainframe Planning and Implementation Technical Specialist. This position will be responsible for planning, directing and implementing all Mainframe related changes, upgrades and releases. This includes planning and coordinating with multiple technical support groups to ensure minimal outages, proper implementation and thorough validation. 

Plans and oversees the implementation of software and related hardware to the test and acceptance environments. 

Creates, maintains, and oversees utilization of policies and procedures for configuring and rolling out new releases and associated technical and nontechnical considerations. 

Subject matter expert for weekend maintenance and weekend change process. Responsible for all incident and change record creation related to maintenance. This position is also responsible for coordinating mainframe hardware vendor support. 

Please Note: This is not a programming position. Successful applicants will be skilled at planning, coordination and implementation of mainframe technologies.

Extensive knowledge of Mainframe computing technologies, principles and concepts. 

Extensive knowledge with MVS system fundamentals and MVS commands. 

Extensive knowledge of IPL activities, weekly maintenance, console and HMC operation.

Experience with zOS Mainframe systems, JES2,TSO, ISPF, SDSF and JCL.

Experience with CA7 scheduling tools.
