| Job Description | : | SKILLS: Clustering Software: Linux: Red Hat Linux OS: Solaris 10: Solaris Container/Zone: Sun/Solaris Hardware: Veritas Cluster Server: DESCRIPTION: 8+ Years of hands on experience Must have detailed knowledge of Solaris versions 8, 9 and 10 - minimum 6+ years Must have detailed knowledge of Red Hat Linux versions 4, 5, and 6 - minimum 4+ years Experience with Solaris LDOMs (Oracle VM server) and Solaris 10 zones is a must - minimum 2 years Working knowledge of Veritas Volume Manager and Solaris Volume Manager is required minimum 3 years of at least one Knowledge of Veritas clustering for Oracle RAC and other applications is required - minimum 2 years Need to have knowledge of installing, configuring and maintaining of Sun/Solaris HW Must be able to perform Solaris Packages and RPM maintenance Knowledge of Jump Start/Kick Start server along with network installation a must minimum 1 year Must understand boot process and run levels, paging and swapping, inter-process communication, functions of devices and device drivers and file system concepts Oracle/Sun Hardware experience is required (candidate needs to provide a list of models they are worked with) Previous experience working in a Data Center environment is a plus as candidate will be required to help run cables when needed Must be able to participate in patch management Virtualization and Consolidation experience is required Knowledge of proxy service, naming services (LDAP, DNS, Active Directory, etc.) is needed Shell scripting knowledge as a Solaris/Linux administrator is required Knowledge of FC HBA for external storage is required Experience with external storage (SAN/NAS) and LUN mapping is required from server configuration and administration perspective Understanding of networking is required Working knowledge of best practices for backup and restore of UNIX servers is needed ZFS knowledge is a plus Experience with Solaris 11 is a plus Additional hardware experience with HP blade servers is a plus Responsible for troubleshooting servers and OS problems System migration experience is a plus Knowledge of VMware Guest image and template creation is a plus Knowledge of Amazon Machine Images (AMI) using RHEL 5 and 6 is a plus Working knowledge of EMC Power Path is a plus Working knowledge of IPMP is a plus Working knowledge of network interface bonding is a plus Knowledge of capacity monitoring and management of UNIX servers is a plus Any high availability concept/knowledge will be a big plus (i.e. Local Datacenter HA or DR across multiple DC.) Any working knowledge of DTrace and SystemTap will be highly preferred Skills Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required) Strong ability to work independently and manage ones time (Required) Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery (Required) Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue |
