Job Title: Linux Architect/Administrator
Location: Columbia, SC
Duration: 4+ months
Note: must have architecture exp not just administration.
Candidate should possess senior level administrative knowledge in the support, architecture and implementation of UNIX/Linux servers. Must have extensive knowledge of VMware, Storage Area Networks, IBM UNIX and Red Hat Linux server support and management. Ability to work with diverse groups and to communicate complex ideas and subjects accurately, clearly and concisely as well as the ability to transfer knowledge to management, peers, and functional teams is required.
Responsibilities:
1. Review, install, maintain and test operating system and application software on Unix/Linux server platform.
2. Administer and tune Unix/Linux servers for optimum operating efficiency.
3. Perform local security auditing and update on Unix/Linux platforms.
4. Assist with architecture and configuration of Vmware environment.
5. Provide technical guidance to peers by instructing them in the maintenance and support of various components of the multi-processing systems hosted in the Unix/Linux environment.
6. Assist with the architecture, design and implementation of an offside data center for redundancy purposes.
7. Assist with the architecture and enhancement of distributed enterprise backup system.
