Position : SOA Architect

Location: MO

Duration: 6-12 Months


DESCRIPRTION:

     Ø  The SOA Architect works with the project manager, business analysts, application product engineers, end users and support teams to create state-of-the-art SOA solutions. The architect is focused on system design, quality design deliverables and technical leadership.

Ø  Must have the ability to provide technical leadership and consulting on complex projects.

Ø  Capable of working with internal and external customers to identify requirements and must have the technical foresight needed to design and develop cost effective solutions that meet functional and performance requirements.

Ø  The architect must have full technical knowledge of all phases of service and applications programming, and will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of the design phases of SOA projects.

Ø  May have duties instructing, directing, and checking the work of other applications programming personnel during the development, test and production implementation phases.

Ø  Provides significant input into creation, maintenance and adherence to design and coding standards.

Ø  Acts independently under general direction.

 

PRINICPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:

 

Ø  Has clear alignment to IT strategy and provides input to influence the IT strategy.

Ø  Work with functional architects to develop application roadmaps, architecture strategy and to define and implement application architecture.

Ø  Create to-be state service blueprints that are aligned with business and IT strategy and roadmaps.

Ø  Work with IT and Business management to evaluate complex user requests, large projects and strategies.

Ø  Perform analysis of large-scale, complex, cross-system, cross-platform changes or issues. Lead efforts to assess feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with all corporate platforms/systems and related capabilities.

Ø  Formulate and influence program specifications using structured analysis and design methodology.

Ø  Prepare SOA high-level design documentation which provides direction on program logic, multi-platform integration and exception scenarios.

Ø  Keep current with industry trends and developments for technologies in assigned area, and assist in evaluating and developing plans for keeping SOA applications current.

Ø  Establish, adopt, communicate and enforce standards and policies for system documentation, best practices, standards and policies that support an optimized SOA. .

Ø  Provide assistance to IT team members with issues needing technical expertise or complex systems, programming knowledge, and industry trends.

Ø  Mentor team to improve their understanding and skill and ensure they are familiar with resource materials including systems documentation, standards, and best practices.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

ؠ College degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience 8+ years experience in applications design and programming, preferably 1-2 years at ESI • Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.

Ø  Expert knowledge and proficiency of programming languages: Webservices Java/J2EE, XML, XSLT, Oracle, Hibernate, Spring, Mule EE, MDI, MQ Some knowledge of CORBA, Mule CE and Websphere is nice to have.

Ø  Design and develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of innovation and creativity.

Ø  Strong customer service focus

Ø  Balanced presentation of ideas and information to large audiences.

Ø  Ability to lead discussions with all levels of the organization and to provide balanced information of an idea or communication of an issue regardless of written or verbal.

Ø  Familiarity with health care or PBM industry very helpful.

Ø  Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines.

Ø  Wide breadth of mentoring within IT and Business on technology and industry trends.

Ø  Demonstrated ability to prioritize work load and meet project deadlines.

Ø  Proven systems thinker who understands broad impacts and can make and implement recommendations on solutions and mitigate risk.

Ø  Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools, applications, technology, and industry trends.

Ø  Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and influence decisions of team.

Ø  Has worked in a matrixed organization, or large team collaboration experience.
