Direct Client - MicroStrategy Architect positions - Tampa, FL and Austin, TX

Position 1:

Title: MicroStrategy Architect
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 9 months
Job Type: Contract

Requirements:
-------------------

  • The depth of knowledge and experience in a specific BI tool such as MicroStrategy
  • The ability to lead a team in the successful design, development and implementation of the ID aspect of the solution; enforces quality control on all deliverables and artifacts
  • Be able to collaborate with the technical leadership on large implementations and align the ID architecture to the overall solution
  • The ability to conduct design, development and test walk throughs
  • Must understand issues of performance, reliability, scalability, etc
  • Define and estimate level of effort; contribute to proposals and SOWs; build task plans for ID
  • Must have familiarity with Data modeling tools, such as Erwin or ER/Studio
  • Must have familiarity with Relational database tools, such as MS SQL Server, or Oracle RDBMS
  • Must have expertise in SQL, the ability to understand database structure, and the ability to query interpret results
  • Must have ten (10) years of Data Warehousing experience, seven (7) years of experience directly with information delivery and business intelligence
  • Must be able to travel 100%

Position 2:

Title: MicroStrategy Architect (Project Designer and Data Modeler)
Location: Tampa, FL
Duration: 12+months
Rate: Competitive - Open

The MicroStrategy architect is responsible for translation of the data warehouse schema into usable MicroStrategy schema objects. It is mandatory that this person understand the business environment and rules as well as understand the data and data locations in the warehouse. This role is responsible for the mapping of all objects in the MicroStrategy environment to elements in the data warehouse and troubleshooting of data anomalies.

Responsibilities

Enable technical delivery of the query profile/user requirements
Ensure that data format and quality goals are met
Understand and assist with creation of dimensional, logical and physical models. Must be able to work with Data Architect to accomplish appropriate model for optimal reporting.
Develop drilling, aggregations and partitioning strategies within data warehouse
Incorporate incremental changes to the data models
Coordinate with the other teams to ensure on-time completion
Mapping of all attributes and facts in the MicroStrategy environment
Working with report developers and business users to ensure appropriate environment for development
Work with admin to ensure performance and access is optimized

Skills

Strong logical, dimensional, and physical data modeling skills
Strong knowledge of MicroStrategy products and RDBMS features
General knowledge of the data import process
Requirements gathering
Scope development and assessment
Understanding of data quality goals and issues
Understanding and knowledge of the business users and requirements
Understanding of the ETL process

Requirements

Must have database usage and SQL background
Must understand the business and business rules
Must be able to act as a bridge between the technical aspects of the system and the business requirements
Must be trained in MSTR project design and Advanced Data Warehousing at the least MCE certification would be recommended
