Position: Informix DBA
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Length: 18-24 months
Required Skills:
Must have at least 5 or more years experience as a Database Administrator working with Informix Databases
Experience installing, configuring, supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, designing Informix production and test databases
Experience with performance tuning and monitoring
Experience insuring data integrity for applications, database availability, and verifying data loads
Experience designing and implementing logical and physical databases that are complex in nature
Experience evaluating database technologies and product releases to develop long term strategy for system processing improvements and system compatibility with database platform
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in an IT related field from a four-year college or university
Ability to interpret and create complex SQL queries
Description:
This Sr. Informix DBA position is with a well known, fun organization seeking to grow their team as they embark on major, enterprise technology initiatives. This person will be responsible for the support, maintenance, and planning related to the Informix database environment and providing administrative and database development set of responsibilities. The administrative portion of the position will include servicing of support tickets. This person will also work on a team of 1 other DBA to perform optimization and monitoring of database servers including capacity planning and performance, assist with database design in collaboration with application developers, manage and maintain the data, including backups, data fixes, replication, restoration and high availability of operational systems. The Informix DBA will also be responsible for configuration and management of security of Informix, including troubleshooting. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for stable, long term, consulting work in a enterprise environment here in Indy.
