Title: Sr. Active Directory Engineer

Location:  Chicago, IL

Contract: 6+ month contract

Pay: Negotiable

Job Description:

Assist with the migration of user accounts from legacy AD environments and ensuring that rights and permissions are preserved.

- Working with application developers and business units to integrate authorization and authentication requests from a variety of sources (LDAP or Kerberos) into Active Directory

- Work with the appropriate Operations teams with developing process for day to day tasks and be available to assist when issues are escalated including: * Engineer proper group creation to ensure rights and permissions are issued in a consistent and manageable manner * Work on updating existing groups in AD to meet current corporate standards * Troubleshoot issues related to authentication and authorization on a wide variety of platforms (including LDAP and Kerberos integration) * Proper AD Site and Site Link creation. * Group Policy Engineering * Day to day AD Health monitoring including directory and DFS replication.

- Create appropriate process documentation to ensure that routine tasks are done in a consistent and predictable manner.

- Assist with the development of standards surrounding the Directory and work to migrating the directory

REQUIRED:

5 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Active Directory (AD) in large enterprise, multi-datacenter environments exceeding 150K accounts.

- 5 years of experience implementing and supporting Windows clustering solutions

- 5 years of experience with group policy

- 5 years of experience delivering Windows server based initiatives for complex, global organizations.

- Expert level knowledge of Active Directory technologies including: * AD sites and Services, including Bridge Head servers and Replication Connectors * Authentication across Forest and Domain Trusts * Windows DNS, DHCP and WINS, including hosts and lmhosts files * Protocols such as: Kerberos and LDAP (including the creation and use of keytab files)

- Expert level knowledge of Windows server operating systems (2003/2008 R2/2012)

- Experience with HP Hardware (BL-series Blades and Chassis; DL-series servers)

- Experience with Virtual Environments such as Hyper-V and VMWare

- Experience with ADMT

- Must possess advanced troubleshooting skills including: DNS issues, AD replication, FRS issues, Schema Metadata cleanup, NetMon capture files

- Experience integrating Windows environments with 3rd party Infoblox DNS servers

- Strong PowerShell scripting skills

- Strong documentation skills

- Excellent people skills and a willingness to work with different teams across the Enterprise
