Location: Dover, DE
Duration: 8 Months
Interview: In person
This is a programming position where the contractor will be focused mostly on Cognos Business Intelligence system. This is an ongoing position that is intended to run an extended period of time.
Years of Relevant Experience: 5 to 8 years
Preferred Education:
Four (4) year college degree or equivalent technical study:
Role Description:
Responsible for enterprise wide implementation of DelDOT's Cognos Business Intelligence systems.
Function as the technical expert with all DelDOT's systems involving reporting applications.
Identify improvements to reporting standards to achieve high quality services / products.
Plan all required process steps.
Review and understand the Application Team's work plan.
Provide status of work to Team Lead.
Develop contingency plans as necessary.
Engage in ongoing process improvement.
Detailed functional and process knowledge.
Responsible for Cognos migration expertise with version 10.
Utilize deep modeling, design and coding skills.
Provide expertise in one or more database environments.
Excellent client communication skills including customer service.
Excellent troubleshooting skill including, but not limited to, technical issues and business process related issues.
Candidate should be able to work in a team environment or independently.
Should be familiar with Project Management application (MS Project).
Skill Required / Desired Amount of Experience Expertise Rating
Cognos Business Intelligence system Required 5 Years
Advance query and report writing skills with cubes. Required 3 Years
Oracle DB 10g or greater Required 3 Years
SQL DB Version 2008 or greater Highly desired 3 Years
Access Manger Exp. Highly desired 3 Years
Data Mapping Exp Required 5 Years
Query Studio and Report Studio Exp. Required 3 Years
