Job Description:

The Senior C# .Net Developer will function as a senior technical resource for a high-profile agile development effort for the Department of Youth Services in the development of the Behavioral Health System (BHS). This position will be responsible for development of applications on a .Net-based platform across a development team consisting of both agency employees and contractors. This position will work closely with the business stakeholders, project manager, systems architect, and other ITS development and database staff.  This position requires critical thinking and problem solving abilities to address complex issues. 

The full duration of the project is approximately 18 months.

JOB DUTIES & KEY SKILLS:

•Proven experience in performing full life-cycle development of .Net web applications and database applications using SQL Server databases

•Proven experience in working both independently and as part of an Agile (SCRUM) development team

•Proven experience in design and develop reports which integrate data from multiple databases and applications

•Excellent communications skills with technical and non-technical users/teams

•Proven ability to review and repair legacy code as needed

•Proven ability to document code consistently throughout the development process

•Proven ability to perform unit and integration testing to ensure software quality

•Ability to work collaboratively with developers, business analysts, and management to define new (and enhance existing) features that are aligned with this organization’s overall long term strategy

•Ability to work on multiple projects with multiple deadlines

•Ability to construct user guides and documentation

•General project Management skills

•Proven experience and excellent knowledge of Transact SQL

•Working experience with Content Management Systems (CMS)

QUALIFICATIONS & RELATED EXPERIENCE:

•Minimum 8+ years’ experience programming/applications development required.

•Minimum 8+ years’ experience building .Net web applications and database applications using C# is required

•Minimum 6+ years’ experience with .Net Framework 3.5 or newer

•Experience with technologies such as MVC, Web Services, WCF, and WPF

•Object Oriented Analysis and Design experience is required.

•Government software development experience is preferred.

•Strong Database development experience with SQL Server and TSQL is required.

•Experience with web application development using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, AJAX and / or Silverlight is preferred

•Experience working in an Agile project lifecycle (SCRUM).

EDUCATION:

•A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
