The primary responsibility of the Application Architect is to create high quality solution designs which address all architectural concerns including business, information, application and infrastructure. The Architect will serve as the primary point of contact between the project team and the Architecture Delivery organization. The architect's designs will align with business blueprints, delivery constraints, enterprise business services, enterprise framework services and infrastructure standards. The architect is accountable for the delivery of design solutions that promote flexibility, scalability and high-performance. Our ideal candidate is an individual who can work in partnership with the development and infrastructure teams as well as the business community to develop advanced systems for our client. SKILL OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Ø 10+ years' experience architecting, developing, deploying and supporting computing applications in a large scale environment Ø Strong IBM IIB or IBM Process Modeler and Integration Designer experience Ø Experience developing and architecting object-orientated applications using one or more of the following programming languages: .Net (C#), J2EE Ø Demonstrated proficiency in designing distributed applications in which multiple operating systems, languages, and vendor middleware interoperate. Ø Experience with the mainframe environment and CICS Ø Proven experience on enterprise systems integration projects Ø Use of Service Oriented Architectures in high volume transaction environments Ø UML expertise (experience with Rational Software Architect is a plus) Ø Ability to apply design concepts – layered architectures, components, interfaces, messaging and patterns. Ø Ability to lead a group through an architectural development process and collaborate with application development teams, architects and other members of the software development team. Ø Ability to discover and define technical requirements and their relationship to functional requirements and to determine the adequacy of documented requirements for architecture definition. Ø Familiarity with Software Change, Configuration Management and Build Processes in a complex environment (experience with Rational Team Concert is a plus). Ø Healthcare or Insurance/Financial services industry knowledge Ø Strong business/technology decision making skills Ø Prior experience in a technical leadership role Ø Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Ø Strong leadership skills to effectively influence decisions and positively |
