[DK GreenRoots] Fwd: Signature needed: NPR just made a big mistake, Adam Siegel

Okay,

This is the very first time that I have gotten a clean mobilization message related to climate change from DKos.

I'll sign ...

Hope all others do.

Adam

PS:  This isn't a new news story ... a bit delayed from this becoming news.

Adam, sign the petition by Daily Kos and CREDO—urging NPR to reverse its awful decision to gut its climate change coverage. Click here to sign.

National Public Radio just made the baffling decision to drastically reduce its staff dedicated to covering climate change and the environment, leaving just one part-time reporter on the beat.

NPR's decision is part of a disturbing anti-science trend within the news media—the number of newspapers that included a weekly science section has shrunk from 85 to just 19 in the past 25 years.

And with deliberately misleading coverage from conservative outlets like Fox News, the American public is actively misinformed about climate change. In just one year (2013), the percentage of Americans who don't believe in climate change actually went up 7%.

Sign the petition by Daily Kos and CREDO to National Public Radio: One part-time reporter is not enough. Reverse the decision to slash your team of reporters covering climate change and the environment.

Keep fighting,
Paul Hogarth, Daily Kos
