Location: Durham, NC – Candidate must be local or willing to relo as no travel can be charged - - -

Max Rate: $Open/hr (H1's ok)

** SAP BASIS Consultant with 6-7 Years of relevant experience

• SAP BASIS Consultant with strong SAP Production Support experience preferably in Pharma Industry

• Must have strong hands-on expertise in BASIS Administration of SAP products such as SAP ECC,SRM,BI,Portals,PI with GRC

Job Description - - - System Checking and Proactive monitoring

Production, Quality, Development & Support Systems,filesystems monitoring

Database monitoring - ST04 check ,Oraarch monitoring,Tablespace monitoring,Research OSS Notes/Performance Improvement/Bug Fixes etc.

 

Problem Solving : Long Running Jobs, Analyse Earlywatch reports, File system Full,Abap Dumps

Spool Problem, Backup Failure, Emails not working, Tablespace related issues, Cancelled Jobs

Obsolete Locks, Index/Update optimizer statistics, DBA activities, Sandbox testing, Solution Manager configuration

 

System Management: House Keeping, Reorgs, System Refresh / Moving Systems , Release/ Upgrade, Master Transport Creation & Transport / STMS config, System Startup & Shutdown, Client Copy/Deletion, Kernel Download / Distribution / Activation, Oracle database patching

Oracle Client update to 11x, Oracle SBP update to 10.2.0.5.7, Database parameter cleanup and update

Kernel update to version 720, Applying SAP bugfixes, Applying Support Packages, Spain Integration data collection/support, GRC update support, Index Creation, Table/Index Partition, J2EE Restart / Portal Related Issues

 

Coordination with multiple teams in different areas and Other SAP BASIS related activities

 

Skill Sets Required - - - • SAP BASIS Consultant with 6-7 Years of relevant experience

• SAP BASIS Consultant with strong SAP Production Support experience preferably in Pharma Industry

• Must have strong hands-on expertise in BASIS Administration of SAP products such as SAP ECC,SRM,BI,Portals,PI with GRC

• Should also have good knowledge of Support Pack Stack Installs,Kernel upgrades, System refreshes,Client Copies,Batch Job Scheduling and Management Transport Management System,Printer Setup,Security,etc.

• Requires expertise in Installations, Integration between SAP products, troubleshooting of system performance issues

• Needs to have good working knowledge of AIX-UNIX and Oracle DB

• Should preferably have exposure to third-party products as well

• Should be able to act as a liaison between the offshore support team and Business

• Needs to support and maintain the SAP system landscape comprising of SAP ECC,BI,SRM,Portals,PI and GRC.

• Should have strong customer focus

• Knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies

• Strong customer service orientation

• Strong communication skills (both written and oral) is a must

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to impart ideas in both technical and user-friendly language

• Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail

• Worked closely with Business and Functional areas for analysis of the issue and technical solutions.

• Effective liaison between technical and non-technical people - - -

 

 

Provides the highest level of technical expertise and consulting on SAP Basis or its successor, SAP Web Application Server systems to process teams and IT staff. Establishes the infrastructure standards and requirements. Evaluates, directs and supports SAP Basis and/or Web Application Server system enhancements and performs quality assurance functions. Researches and implements solutions for Basis and/or Web Application Server functionality in the areas of performance monitoring and tuning and systems configuration, design and implementation. Provides highest degree of technical engineering and support to the SAP team. Must have extensive experience in operating systems and programming languages, such as ABAP, Java and Java EE. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Typically has 5 to 7 years of IT work experience building enterprise applications, including a minimum of 4 years of experience with SAP systems
