Job Title: AIX Systems Engineer
Location: Chicago,IL
Duration: 6-12+ Months Contract

We are looking for a AIX Systems Engineer that can thrive in a challenging and rewarding
environment. This person will help design, implement, troubleshoot, analyze, and
maintain networks. This person will be comfortable interfacing with the business as well as customers as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
5 years minimum performing in a senior administrator capacity with the UNIX (AIX) software version 5.3 or higher in a production and test multi-tier multi-server internet facing environment
3 years supporting IBM P series hardware Power6 and above (e.g. assembly, configuring, upgrading, problem determination, proactive maintenance).
Understanding and working knowledge of HA clustered systems including experience with PowerHA (HACMP).
IBM System P preferably p595 p570, p550, p520
IBM Advance Power Virtualization features such as VIO, Micro partitions , DLPAR, HMC / IVM etc
Demonstrable level of competence including:
A practical level of experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, etc.
Working knowledge of common network monitoring and security utilities
Troubleshooting focused on determining hardware vs. software, hardware vs.firmware, software vs. operating system, network vs. application/systems, and patterned vs. non-repeatable problems
7+ years of AIX systems administration mandatory
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Willingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent presentation skills
Ability to lift, carry, and move all components of PC workstations, servers,
network equipments, peripherals, and other ancillary equipments
Ability to travel as needed
