Job Purpose/ Description:                     

• Development: Analyzing, designing, coding, building, debugging and migrating applications.

• Creating and maintaining supporting documentation.

• Written and verbal communication of assignment status.

• Troubling shooting application and environment issues.

• Performing and aiding quality assurance testing.

• Performing and aiding in performance testing.

• Follow all internal compliance guidelines and practices including the updating of internal incident tracking software.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:                    

• Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.

• 8 to 11 years of IT work experience in systems programming / analysis

• Experience developing Dashboards/Reports utilizing PL/SQL and Crystal Reports within a MS 2008 SQL Server Database solution.

• Strong background in MS SQL Server Upgrades.

• Experience Developing Dashboards/Reports Using Crystal Reports.

• Ability in determining technical system issues

• Ability to work collaboratively with IT staff on development, troubleshooting, and other technical efforts.

• Strong organization and system documentation skills

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Strong teamwork and team building skills

• Ability to handle complex operational tasks and recommend processing and technology changes

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Ability to balance multiple, concurrent assignments and effectively manage priorities/deadlines

 

Required education/experience:             

• Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.

• 8 to 11 years of IT work experience in systems programming / analysis

• Typically experienced across two Information Technology areas or in a single system / applications software development technology across multiple computing platforms.

• Responsibilities more heavily weighted toward analytics than operations.

• Practical experience of project management disciplines.

 

Other Comments for Vendors:              

• Knowledge of Insurance, Annuities, Brokerage and Retail Mutual Fund business

• Knowledge of project management principles

• Ability to develop strategies for operational improvements and cost savings

• Ability to mentor others

• ITIL knowledge and experience
