Job Title -LAN administrator

Location- Raleigh NC

Duration -6+ Months

Job Description and Skill Required:

• Experience installing, testing and repairing structured data and voice cabling, both copper and fiber optic.

• Experience installing and basic configuration and troubleshooting of data network equipment such as routers and switches.

• Experience with LAN structured cabling installation, repair and testing

• Proficiency with Windows based personal computers.

• Ability to manage tasks and meet schedules.

• Must have good organizational and English communication skills, written and oral.

• Must have excellent customer service and teamwork skills.

• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

• Willingness to accommodate occasional regional travel.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Physical installation and testing of LAN wiring and infrastructure

• Lightweight construction and installation and basic troubleshooting of LAN equipment such as network switches, racks and UPSes.

• Interacting with employees at all levels in all DOH, DMV, and other DOT offices across the State as needed to support network solutions

PREFERRED:

• Experience with Avaya (Nortel) LAN switching products

• Experience with Exchange Email and Calendar with Outlook client

• Prefer previous experience working in a state government environment
