The Network Engineer position is focused on a broad range of network planning, architecture design, engineering, operational and change management activities related to the Firm’s data center and distributed infrastructure.  The candidate will assist in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems and apply a broad range of skills and experience to work independently and as part of a team to maintain the highest levels of network availability and performance.

 

The candidate’s key responsibilities will include: maintaining, updating and designing QoS requirements for voice/video and priority applications; monitoring the hardware and software for the Firm’s network infrastructure; monitoring protocol compatibility, performs system tuning, and makes recommendations for improvement; assisting in the design of the network architecture, design of network infrastructure, and plans and designs LAN/WAN/wireless solutions; performing network problem resolution and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications; and integrating and schematically depicting communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations.

 

Specific Requirements:

 

·       The ideal candidate must have advanced working knowledge of networking routing protocols, transmission media, and QoS; understand IP telephony; and experience working with Cisco routers and switch architecture, best practices, deployment, and management.

 

·       The successful candidate should have at least five to ten years’ experience in an information technology role; hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
