Sr. QA Automation Engineer

18 month contract

Santa Ana, CA (Client prefers locals)

 

Need someone from Southern CA for In Person

Position Overview:

The hire will be responsible for improving the overall testing effort by designing and implementing automation frameworks and testing tools using programming and test automation skills.  This may require working with existing tools such as QTP or creating new test tools.  Additionally, the hire may be required to participate in manual testing and will be required to write test plans and test cases based on business requirements and technical specifications.

 

Job Description:

Required:

·         5+ years of programming experience with at least one of the following languages: C++, C#, Java, Visual Basic, VBScript.

·         Strong technical skills in SQL, QA automation (either using automation tools or programming language).

·         Strong database skills in MS SQL Server or other databases

·         Experience in automation testing using HP Quality Center and QTP, or other automation testing tools.

·         Experience in writing test plan and test cases based on use cases. Experience in multiple testing methodologies.

·         Must be able to work under self direction with minimal supervision and guidance, prioritizing own work and coordinating with other team members and business users.

·         Excellent people skills when interacting with developers and users. Must be a team player!

·         Must be a process & efficiency driven person and strong knowledge and practice of Software SDLC.

·         Excellent analytical, verbal, and communication skills.

·         Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems

 

Optional:

·        Master of Science degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems

·        Insurance industry knowledge (big plus)
