One of my client is looking for Unix/Linux Administrator. Here is
the requirement.

Position : Unix/Linux Administrator
Location : San Francisco, CA.
Duration : 6 to 12 months

Note: Final will be FACE TO FACE

Job Description:
Pure Unix/Linux and the other is Unix/Linux with Monitoring SW
specifically Foglight.

• Unix admin with experience in any of the following monitoring s/w
Foglight or Splunk or Nagioso experience.
• Unix admin
• Primary linux platform
• RHEL experience
• Experience with Builds.
• Experience with java or j2ee
• Personality, up beat, likes to have fun, hard working.
• Support production environment. (supporting developers and
production)
• Weekend work, be on call.
• Weekends--10 times per year.
• 6 people in SF and 3 peeps in China.
• Interview on Phone and then Final in-person.

Overview:

Key responsibilities include the identification and resolution of
hardware and software technical problems/malfunctions. In addition,
this position will serve as primary escalation point of contact for
resolution of data center service problems / issues. On a daily basis,
the role will monitor and respond to systems failures as well as
manage scheduled systems processes. Systems analysis will be performed
to proactively predict and detect systems errors in order to ensure
maximum uptime and service quality. You will work closely with other
IT groups to in the areas of throughput analysis, problem solving, and
infrastructure planning, with the potential to affect the successful
execution of business transactions.

Essential Job Functions:

• 3-5 years UNIX Systems Administration experience
• 2+ years in a 24/7/365 high-volume environment.
• 4 years of Linux Systems Administration experience.
• Experience with highly available solutions / architectures.
• Candidate MUST have experience working in a structured change
management processes
• for highly available Web facing environment.
• Previous experience Managing e-commerce related sites, and/or On-
demand services.
• Experience building and configuring major Internet host/network
services including but not limited to: Web (http, SSL, etc.), Mail
(Sendmail, etc.), DNS, NFS, Databases
• (Oracle, etc.) and Java.
• Some Networking Experience - TCP/IP, Load Balancing.
• Perl, Shell, CAP scripting.
• J2EE / JBoss experience
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills conducive to
team development.
• Ability to perform needs assessment and handle technical objections.
Desired Skills:
• Strong experience working in high-volume, terabyte-sized OLTP
environment.
• Experience with the administration of networking hardware (Cisco,
Jumpier, etc.) and/or
• Network Systems monitoring
