The Websphere Administrator will be responsible for: performing administration, application deployment, and deployment automation in clustered WebSphere Application Server 6.1 and 7.0, on Linux and AIX platforms. The candidate will be responsible for engineering management of enterprise applications within an IBM WebSphere environment. The candidate should be able to build, deploy, administer and fix issues within WebSphere Application Server. This is a broad position that entails all aspects of setting up, configuring, and maintaining large-scale environments. The candidate will also be responsible for developing custom routines for handling build automation and deployment. In addition, knowledge and experience of working with WebSphere MQ would be highly desirable.

Key responsibilities include:
Maintaining and setting up WebSphere environments on multiple platforms acr oss the enterprise.
Deployment, administration and operational support of (prod, QA and dev) environments for multiple J2EE projects using WebSphere Application Server as the runtime. Help with installations, upgrades, application migrations and support of WebSphere applications for QA and development teams for multiple projects. Identification and resolution of hardware, software or WebSphere problems/outages in any of the WebSphere related services. Participate in performance analysis and certification of all WebSphere Application Server runtime environments. Communicate and collaborate with application and other IT teams. Interactions with IBM support teams via PMRs to get resolution to issues.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related discipline
. 4+ years of experience in WebSphere administration using WAS 6.1 or 7.0
. 3+ yrs of experience on multiple UNIX or Linux flavors
. Working knowledge of WebSphere MQ 6.0 or 7. 0 is a plus
. WebSphere certification is a plus
. Strong Production Support experience
. Strong J2EE troubleshooting ability
. Strong communication skills both written and verbal
. Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with the ability to appropriately prioritize tasks as needed
. Team oriented with excellent collaboration skills
. Attention to detail, and a commitment to quality work
. Excellent written and verbal communications skills
. Experience working within large and complex technical environments
. Exceptional customer support skills.
