Position:           Build Release Engineer

Location:          San Francisco, CA

Duration:          6+ Months

 

Qualifications:

Release Engineer: Define, develop, maintain, improve & distribute the configuration management processes and procedures. Manage all changes to configuration items and environments that are "in a state of change" and identify the risk of cross-impacts & identify all affected applications. Work in source code version control system, and conduct version control, branching, merging, labeling for multiple release versions of multiple applications. Monitor and perform software builds, releases and distribution to test and production environments Administer SCM and quality measurement tools used throughout the development lifecycle.

 

Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Science/Systems or related field of study and five years of progressive experience in the job offered or related position.  All of the experience must include implementing parallel development for multiple releases using streams, branching, merging, and labeling; utilizing software configuration management (SCM) processes and related operating environments to identify and maintain functional and physical attributes of systems with its design and operational requirements; and working with the following technologies, systems and scripting languages in connection with configuration management and build/release management:  Subversion, Maven, Ant, Hudson/Jenkins, Perl, Python/Jython, Atlassian Jira, Mingle.  Experience with web technologies: Java, .Net, Websphere, IBM Message Broker, Windows and SQL Server.  Experience with Informatica a plus.  Hands on experience implementing and managing continuous integration environments with web technologies using Agile methods.
