[DK GreenRoots] Campaign to save Otero Mesa in NM. Pls ask Obama to make it a national monument.
The fossil industry, not content with killing tens of thousands of Americans annually with emissions of fine particulates, also wants to destroy pristine wilderness in its quest to pour more and more carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases into the environment.
"More than 1 million acres of Otero Mesa are vulnerable to mining and drilling. At risk: the desert's unique landscape, an important source of drinking water, and 1,000 native species including our only pure herd of pronghorn antelope. We're urging President Obama to save Otero Mesa by making it a national monument."
