Title: MS SQL Server DBA
Location: Basking Ridge , NJ
Duration: 6 months contract
 
Job Requirements (SQL Server DBA):
Bachelor Degree with minimum of 6+ years experience in MS SQL Server 2005/2008 Adminitration Activities
Application Components Installation, configuration and administration of Informatica , Microstrategy, Weblogic, Java etc. Windows Server Administration activities.

Basic Qualifications:
Ability to write and maintain complex Transact SQL and Packages
Understand, design, and maintain DTS / SSIS Packages
SQL Query Tuning and Optimization
Linux Red Hat (4.4) and Linux Shell Scripting

DBA Tasks / Experience with:
Backups
Restores
Able to create and modify SQL Packages
Maintain Table space, archive log space
SQL Loader
SQL Server 2000/2005
Microsoft DTS/SSIS
Shell Scripting
Building interfaces to and from Oracle/SQL Server/Sybase

SQL Background, including, but not limited to:
Author complex SQL Queries
Perform Data Updates - Deletes, Insertions and Updates
Analyze and tune existing Procedures, Functions, Packages and Views
Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005
Data Analyst Background, including, but not limited to:
Data Manipulation
Analyze and resolve data questions/issues/anomalies.
Schema Maintenance: Design, Create, Alter database objects
Perform and automate Database Backups, Recovery, Imports and Exports
Monitor Space Usage of Tablespaces and System Disks
Periodic refresh of Staging/Development using Production Backups

Key Responsbilities:
Installation, configuration and upgrading of Microsoft SQL Server software and related products.
Evaluate MSSQL Server features and related products.
Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures.
Take care of the Database design and implementation.
Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
Database tuning and performance monitoring.
Application tuning and performance monitoring.
Setup and maintain documentation and standards.
Plan growth and changes (capacity planning).
Do general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams.
Interface with MSSQL for technical support.
ITIL Skill set requirement (Problem Management/Incident Management/Chain Management etc)
