Job Title:  Oracle DBA

Location: Albany, NY

Duration: 6+Months

 

Need USC or GC or EAD ; Need W-2 rates !

 

Possible CTH or extension available if interested. OK for contract only.

 

EXPERIENCE:

•         Four or more years' experience as an Oracle DBA. Experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA is desirable.

•         The ideal candidate would have medical records experience, especially with FACETS (one of the client's applications).

•         Demonstrated experience working well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in high-pressure situations and complex environments.

•         Experience working in a healthcare environment is highly preferred and resumes with this experience will get more consideration.

•         Experience working with Trizetto is HIGHLY preferred.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

•         Real world experience with the following Oracle technologies: RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard and Data Pump.

•         Understanding of how to properly recommend disk space, RAM and CPU capacities related to sizing an Oracle environment.

•         Ability to monitor and tune databases to meet application needs.

•         Experience in installing, patching and upgrading Oracle 10g and 11g database environments.

•         Experience in designing, modeling, developing, and supporting large Data Warehouse databases.

•         Experience in logical and physical database design.

•         Experience in implementing and maintaining database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).

•         Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability.

•         Strong customer focus and management of client expectations; ability to establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence in IT knowledge of and concern for users' business needs.

•         Excellent oral and written communication skills.

•         Experience with cross-platform networking in a TCP/IP environment.

•         Full knowledge of SQL, triggers and PL/SQL, including programming and ways to optimize SQL code.

•         Experience working in an AIX environment is preferred.

•         Enthusiastic, hard-working, independent, and self-motivated.

•         Ability to work well in a team environment.
