Overview

The primary objectives of this engagement are to successfully install and configure Oracle Database 11g on Solaris, configure Oracle Financials version R12 to connect to new Solaris-based Oracle instance, configure Oracle DataGuard data replication, and to perform knowledge transfer activities with the Client.  

Tasks:

• Conduct information gathering and configuration planning meetings with the Client
• Verify that Client hardware, software, and pre-requisites are met
• Review license keys and on-site software media
• Review network communication to Client's servers
• Review Oracle parameters and proposed design topology
• Install Oracle binaries version 11g R2 on designated Sun T3 host server
• Configure database parameters
• Configure networking protocols and security to allow Oracle Financials application version R12 on Linux to connect to new instance on Sun T3 Solaris
• Plan the DataGuard solution and preparing the Primary Database
• Creation of the Standby Database
• Test failover and failback scenarios
• Testing of the Standby Oracle database within the Sun Cluster environment

Required:

• 8+ years as an Oracle DBA
• Strong 11g experience
• 4+ years as an Oracle Apps DBA
• DataGuard Installation and configuration experience
• Solaris experience
• Strong Communication and documentation
