Systems Analyst

This is a role in IT team that works in the analysis phase of the system development cycle and consults with users to evaluate business requirements, identify operating procedures, evaluate existing or proposed systems and prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
• Acts as the liaison between business and IT and leads requirements gathering, service-oriented modeling, and analysis and design activities.
• Evaluates business requirements and prepares detailed specifications that follow project guidelines required to develop written programs. Elicits application requirements from stakeholders in JAD sessions and models requirements in various design diagrams.
• Analyzes and revises existing functional documentation. Formulates, defines and documents the functional system specifications using the systems analysis function and various tools.
• Devises or modifies procedures that solve complex business problems with due consideration for hardware/software capacity and limitations, operating times and the desired results.
• Anticipates and addresses emerging customer needs, while effectively managing business challenges and providing appropriate solutions. Interprets customer tasks into re-usable system activities.
• Develops strategies to improve service development life cycle and governance processes. Presents and evaluates design solutions objectively and facilitates conflict resolution.
• Works on multiple complex projects simultaneously bringing them to successful completion in a reasonable timeframe. Professionally manages project commitments, consistently delivering on time.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Speaks clearly and expresses self well in groups and in one-to-one conversations.
• Excellent technical writing skills. Provides feedback and editing in peer reviews.
• Accepts the role of "go to" person based on extensive experience and knowledge and supports multiple systems and customer groups on an ongoing basis.
• Acts as effective coach and mentor to less experienced staff and provides training and assistance as needed.

Qualifications

Requirements:
• 5+ years professional experience as a Systems Analyst in IT field
• 5+ years experience within the Healthcare Payor industry
• 3+ years experience with general document management and document life-cycle processes
• 3+ years experience with SDLCs, preferably with non-waterfall industry methodologies
• Proficiency estimating software development projects
• Bachelor's Degree required

Assets:
• 3+ years experience with implementing Document Management Solutions as Systems Analyst, preferably EMC Documentum
• Strong skills in Java, J2EE, JSP, SOAP, SOA, Web services, Documentum Object Relational Model, Eclipse, Composer, Application Builder.Application Installer, WDK, Webtop
• Experience with development and integration with Healthcare Payor Solutions
• Experience with Oracle, DB2 and/or SQL Database Development
• Experience with high-volume, transaction processing software applications
• Strong modeling skills, including business, process, requirements, applications, software, data, and technology
• Experience with problem and large scale domain or enterprise solution analysis development, selection and implementation
• Experience with SOA practices and implementations
