Drupal Developer

Location: Washington, DC with some work being done in our office in Arlington, VA.

rate: $55/hr

As soon as possible until October 30 with likely extension into 2013

 

Skill and Role Summary:

Brief overview of role and project 

The Senior Associate, Technology, is a member of a project team that is supporting a Government agency in developing a new website using Drupal.  The project is in its final phase prior to launch with several future releases planned to integrate additional websites and content as well as developing enhancements.  The work is to be one of the primary Drupal developers supporting the launch and new release work.

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

What the contractor will be doing on a day to day basis.

The primary duties will include coding, unit testing, using design patterns, learning new technologies, and becoming an expert in one part of the system.  In addition, the responsibilities include:

•         Design and develop new code and/or support operations, maintenance, and enhancements of existing code.

•         Develop conceptual and technical design including use of OOA and OOD techniques.

•         Conduct multiple levels of testing including unit, system, integration and performance.

 

Requirements:

Please state essential skill/s.-

•         Minimum 4 – 5 years in system integration and development and package implementations

•         About 2 years experience with the Linux, MySQL, PHP technology stack

•         Minimum 1 year design and development experience with Drupal web content management solution (WCMS)

•         Experience working with PHP and / or Drupal solutions in a cloud-based environment is desirable

•         Familiar with SQL and / or experience with database technologies such as Oracle or MySQL

•         Solid understanding of all parts of Software Engineering (e.g. Requirements, Design, Implementation, Testing) and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

•         Experience with Object Oriented Technologies.

 

Clearances:

N/A – however, citizen preferred, Greencard holder may be acceptable.
