I have an immediate need for a Automation Engineer (SME) for my client here in DC. This candidates needs to be a SME in Automation testing (preferred Selenium) and be able to integrate/implement as well as lead / teach others on the team.

Contract length: Most likely 1 year

Must haves:
· Experience with Selenium (they are using the latest version)
· MySQL and Oracle database experience (they are using oracle 11g but moving away from using Oracle)
· Experience within a UNIX environment
· Passion for open source
· Heavy scripting experience
· Capable of doing front end and backend testing
· Capable of analyzing current applications and how they can best automate processes moving forward
· Experience with Selenium (they are using the latest version)

· 2 BA's that have taken selenium classes but they are not QA engineers so this person would be mentoring them.
· The developers are doing their own unit testing currently
· Their applications are built in java so the manager prefers that someone has a background in java and or C, C++

Other notes:
· Likes people with computer science degrees and has found success particularly with UMD grads but not biased to people without degrees
· Likes people coming out of product environments non-government backgrounds
· This person needs to be capable of analyzing existing environment and making suggestions
· Personality and communication goes along way
