Data Modeler/ Data Architect - Sr Specialist- Claims RDS-
Analyzes and develops logical data base designs, data models and relational data base definitions across multiple computing environments. Analyzes and designs data models, logical data bases and relational data base definitions. Provides data element naming consistent with standards and conventions and ensures that data dictionaries are maintained across multiple data base environments (e.g., host based, client server, distributed systems, Web and e-commerce). Utilizing independent judgment and discretion, provides in-depth consulting to client and IT management and staff in the identification and resolution of information flow and content issues. Performs data modeling studies and develops detailed data models. Works with client and IT management and staff to establish and maintain consistent data element definitions across computing environments. Participates in the development and maintenance of corporate data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data dictionaries and data element naming standards and conventions for multiple computing environments to support data warehousing and efficient data mining. Competent to work at the highest level of all technical phases of data analysis. May act as Project Leader. May be involved in providing assistance and training to lower level Data Administration Analysts. Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least five, typically seven or more years’ experience in data modeling, data warehousing, data mining, data entity analysis, logical and relational data base design, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Major Roles and Responsibilities:
• Design and maintain data architecture and data model artifacts for the Claim Read Only Data Store (RDS).
• Works with the Business Subject Matter Experts to understand and define data management policies including enterprise naming and definition standards, specification of business rules, data quality analysis, standardized calculations and summarization definitions, and retention criteria.
• Ensure logical data model and other data artifacts are consistent, accurate, flexible and scalable.
• Collaborate across IT and business to ensure data artifacts meet requirements of upstream and downstream claim processing needs.
• Ensure all artifacts comply with enterprise standards and governance.
• Serves as an expert resource on matters of data design in all phases of data warehouse and data mart development, implementation and support.
Skills:
• Expert in database design and data modeling
• Hands on technical experience with Oracle and Erwin
• Technical expertise in data architecture, data management standards and artifacts
• Competent to work at the highest level of all technical phases of data analysis
• Knowledge of end to end Medical Claim data and data flows. (source application knowledge of Proclaim, PMHS, Facets a plus).
• Ability to successfully work within multiple requirements, design, and development approaches and methodologies (agile, iterative, waterfall, etc.)
• Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
• Self-motivated
• Self-learner
Education/Experience:
