Position: Front End/UI Developer

Location: New Providence, NJ

Duration: 6 months

The Front End Developer creates stunning WordPress themes and cutting edge, engaging user experiences for intranet tools & applications. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual excels at providing both highly analytical as well as highly creative ideas to interface engagement. The candidate will also have extensive experience in an agile, innovative development environment.

Responsibilities

•             Develop high quality front end user and web application interfaces from static Photoshop and/or Illustrator documents.

•             Collaborate with development and design staff to offer solutions to complex workflow and usability problems.

•             Fix bugs in the front-end when applicable.

•             Help document front-end workflows.

•             Recommend improvements to usability, reliability and scalability.

•             Assist in usability testing sessions, and report results to product and development teams

•             Communicate:

o             Technical issues

o             Design related issues

o             Overall usability issues

Requirements

•             Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery

•             Experience converting PSD files into pixel-perfect Wordpress themes

•             Demonstrated experience with designing Wordpress sites from the ground up

•             Knowledge of Twitter Bootstrap or Zurb Foundation

•             Strong conceptualization and visual communication abilities

•             Responsive interface development

•             Experience developing interfaces for mobile devices

•             Exceptional attention to detail

•             Strong working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator

•             Strong written and verbal communication skills

•             Understanding of common software development & project management practices

•             Ability to use Git version control

•             Ability to read and comprehend technical specifications

•             Experience with Vagrant and Oracle Virtual Box is a plus
