Job Title: Data Warehouse Specialist
Location: Columbia, SC
Duration: 4+ Months
The South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) has implemented a Data Warehouse and related software components for purposes of tax and revenue compliance and analysis. This project involves proprietary software from Revenue Solutions Inc. (RSI), particularly their Portfolio Warehouse product.
SCDOR wishes to expand the contents of the Data Warehouse, in preparation for new and expanded compliance programs. Due to recent loss of personnel, assistance is needed to plan and execute data loads for various IRS data extracts.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The following application tasks are expected to be executed by the Data Warehouse systems/application analyst. All tasks will involve some degree of up front analysis prior to development or execution, as well as several phases of system and User Acceptance testing.
These tasks/skills do not include database administration support or technical infrastructure support tasks, as these responsibilities fall under a different support area within the SCDOR TSD organization.
Analyzing and planning tasks for load of multiple years of IRS extract files. In particular, we want to load the TY2011 IRMF, the EY2013 IMF/IRTF, and the TY12 IRMF.
Preparing and loading of extract data into the Data Warehouse using the Embarcadero DT Studio Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools.
Setting up and running the Portfolio Warehouse Associate and Grow (A&G) offline process for data cleansing and matching. This includes configuring the A&G match keys.
Resolving issues resulting from the Portfolio Warehouse Associate and Grow (A&G) offline process for data cleansing and matching. This includes analysis of error and Research Queue patterns, refining the A&G match keys as needed to resolve as needed.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
The successful candidate will have, at minimum, the following skills:
Experience and expertise with the proprietary Portfolio Warehouse (PW) Data Warehouse from Revenue Solutions, Inc., including expert knowledge of the PW data model and the Associate and Grow process.
Expertise in the use of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools, including Embarcadero DT Studio and Microsoft SSIS.
Experience and expertise in resolving issues with data loads, including refinement of match keys.
Expertise in relational database management systems, including database utilities and use of T-SQL queries. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 preferred.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with business users, management, vendors, and peers.
Understanding of deployment methodology concepts including design, build, testing, and deployment.
